Carole Jean (Peterson) Laemmrich, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, March 21st, 2018, after a lengthy and courageous battle with diabetes. She was born on July 26, 1942 in Menominee, Michigan, the daughter of the late Norbert and Doris (Hallfrisch) Peterson. She graduated from Stephenson High School in Stephenson, Michigan. On May 21, 1976 she married her soulmate, Gerald “Gus” Laemmrich. She most enjoyed spending time with her “little family” and her many friends. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, golfing and following her granddaughter’s (Katie) many sporting endeavors. She will be fondly remembered for being a fierce friend to many, the best mom to Mike and Mother-in-law to Deanna, a loving grandma to Katie, and the love of Gus Laemmrich’s life. One of Carole’s favorite pastimes was to laugh. Especially with her son. Carole is survived by her husband, Gus and her son Michael (Deanna) Laemmrich of Appleton. Carole had one grandchild that was the light of her life; Kathryn (Katie). She is resting in heaven with her parents and brother Robert Peterson. Friends may call at St. Bernards Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine Street, Appleton, on Wednesday, March 28th with visitation from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm, with a short service to follow. Please join us for a gathering after the service at the Appleton Yacht Club located at 1200 S. Lutz Dr, Appleton. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to one of Carole’s closest angels; Lois Kuehl, ThedaCare Diabetes Educator who helped Carole survive many years. Lois - without you we wouldn’t have had Carole for as long as we did. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Ihde for all the care and love throughout Carole’s struggles. Thank you to the ThedaCare Hospice Team and the ThedaCare team on the 6th floor. Thank you to all of Carole’s dear friends.. Carole treasured your friendship and so does her family. In lieu of flowers please send your donations to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
