Dorothy Grade, one day shy of 97, passed this Monday. She was born to Joseph and Margaret and married for over 61 years to Earl. Her memory continues with the love and pride of her children: Mary(Steve) and Paul(Katy); her grandchildren: Eric(Rhiana), Tim(Rebecca), and Grant. They all look forward to sharing great grandmother stories to Lucas, Lainey, Bennett, and Ellie. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl, son Tom, brother Jack(Sally), and sister Midge(John). She is survived by her sister-in-law Grace(Dave, deceased) and over two dozen nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Menasha, and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, word games, and being an at-home Jeopardy contestant. For the last three decades she kept up with far flung family members via desktop and then tablet computers. Blessed with amazing recall, she was the go to resource for all things relative. The funeral service for Dorothy will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, January 24 at WICHMANN-LAEMMRICH FUNERAL HOME (312 Milwaukee St., Menasha). Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will be at St Joseph Cemetery in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful, loving, and supportive caregivers at Valley VNA, especially Raiza, along with the tireless ThedaCare HomeCare team.
